2004

In the summer of 2004, HEAL took thirteen volunteers to India to strengthen its existing programs. In preparation, its members wrote a 209 page manual including teaching instructions and materials for seventy-two local illnesses. HEAL volunteers spent weeks hiring and training employees, creating new programs with a local project director, a manager, trainers, and a gardening school to function in conjunction with HEAL’s health programs. Its members also sat in workshops and conferences with the Director of Hope Hospital and the presidents of thirteen other organizations to determine effective programs, management, and strategies to meet the needs of our target groups.
