Tharakarama Nagar Waterline
At the beginning of March 2005 The HEAL Foundation, with the partnership of local villagers, laid a waterline to the small community of Tharakarama

Nandamuri Primary School
On February 10, 2005, The HEAL Foundation participated in the inauguration of a small school in the slum of Nandamuri Nagar, approximately 20 kilometers north of Hyderabad, India. HEAL has been working in Nandamuri for six months, and our social workers identified a need for primary education in this small, dusty village. Transportation to government schools is too expensive for the parents here who work as underemployed day-laborers. HEAL helped pay construction costs and will support the teacher in the school with a monthly salary of 500 Rupees ($11). Basic reading and writing skills are taught to the children at this school. The community where they live is part of a network of slums that still lacks reliable drinking water and that lies under a constant cloud of smoke from the city garbage dump burning on the hill above their community.
